A great insight into Zack's character. I loved the small section about the swings; the last line, "wondered why the children had laughed into the air racing against their faces" really tells you everything you need to know about a 'childhood' at Manticore, doesn't it?

This is just a plain wonderful fic. There has been many "snapshots" Zack fic, and yours is one of the best ones. I thought I won't be surprised anymore, but you did and did it splendidly also.

You captured Zack well. Good characterization and an engagingly reflective piece. I particularly liked the line, "He remembers to grimace at pain he doesn't feel." He does grimace a lot, *laugh*. Nice little details, too. The swingset and the ribs stick out in my mind as telling. I enjoyed this one.
