Aw, see, I really like this. I mean, it's all great and wonderful to see the angsty ponderings of how Remus would have been executed if Sirius' prank had played out, but there are subtle considerations that eat away at a person, too. I think this adds to your series, rather than acting as a low-point. Maybe it's a smaller stepping stone than other incidents to lead to a revival of their friendship, but even the small stones have their purpose.

Another nice story showing the rebuilding of their friendship. The whole present idea is sweet...kind of frustrating that we don't find out what they got each other, but I guess it really doesn't matter. I just thought the gifts might be some sort of symbolic representation of what they meant to each other...boy that would be really difficult to think of, wouldn't it. I would not have a clue...not that imaginative.

...anyway, I hope you do continue on and them actually happy and together again.
