All right, I admit it, I was hoping for eelslash. :( Anyway, that was very nicely written with some really beautiful imagery coming across there. Just one thing, I'm POSITIVE it's "Flotsam" not "Flopsam," that really put me off. Aside from that, it was extremely well written. I like that you chose to write about two very minor characters, and you did it so well too! Marvellous stuff.
