A surprising and unexpected confession from Lina! Zel must be in shock - lucky man. He was blinded by his jealousy of Lina's heart not belonging to him, however that mistake seems to have been corrected. Fortunately he hadn't slipped away before Lina managed to find him again.

This does seem to be at a climax and ready to end. I do appreciate the fact that you have stuck with it and aim to see it to completion, a sign of maturity for sure. I liked the twist you did in the story here, making it seem as if Xelloss had his own plot to win Lina. Nothing like a little last minute intrigue to snarl up Zel's plans. I thought the dialogue was well done and Zel's pov clear. My only criticism, and I have caught myself doing this every time I am trying to end a story, and that is to rush it. Lina's long narrative would have been more dramatic broken up with reaction from Zel and her, glimpses to the right and left catching the faces of nearby dancers, and Xelloss face as Zel learns the truth. The action happens quickly, but the telling of it can be drawn out to heighten the drama. I'm sure you know that and were just trying to get it done, but there it is. Love the story and can't wait for the happy ending!

You writing improves all the time. For instance, you tell us that "She was a ghost . . . and she was haunting him" and then you proceed to show us how, and not simply move on as if saying it is enough. Readers what the details. If Zel is sufferig they want to read in what ways, and you supply that.

Nahga is always a fun character to bring in when you need someone to "tell it like it is". I wonder who she married? Tying Eris and Rezo's affair into the story was well thought out also.

Well, getting himself sent into a bloody war sounds like it may mark his character for life. Will his body suffer from disfigurement as well? Will he get sent back to Seyruun a broken man?

Only the next installment will tell, eh? Thanks for the meaty, although short, update.

I... have a problem... I wasn't able to read chapter 11, I don't know if you have chap 12 up there twice as a mistake, but if it's at all possible, could you send me the eleventh chapter?

Other than that, I absolutely love the story and I don't beleive that Lina thinks of him that way. :D

Wow! You loaded a lot of plot advancement into this story. You did a good job on emotional highs and lows, giving both characters plenty of motivation for their actions. The tension mounting under the fortune-teller's tent as Zel grappled with his new information built great and the final escape at the end, very tragic. The last line was heart-wrenching.

Now, I can't wait to see how you patch this one up for the two lovers.

Well done! At last Zel and Lina have an understanding. I thought you worded his feelings extremely well and in character considering the romantic nature of it. The pacing was good slow, building tension to the highlight "I love you" and then the tumbling joy and activity to the end. Wonderful job!

Oh poor Zelgadiss! How terrible for him. He opens his heart and Lina trashes it, denying his feelings because he doesn't agree with her never-before-mentioned feelings on his job. Poor guy. She is being so self-centered and is not giving him any honorable way out of the situation. You did a good job of baffling both Zel and us here and making Lina very unlikeable. I look forward to the next hoops you take these two through!

Poor Zel. You really have me rooting for him. He is rather pathetic, though. Will he ever just tell her? Is he willing to risk everything for...everything? And Lina, she's acting like someone trying to hide her passions as well. Can't she tell he's not putting on an act, that he's wearing his heart on his sleeve? Ah, well... misunderstanding is at the core of a good romance. Carry on in the terrific manner you have been.

I wonder if Lina will reciprocate Zel's feelings. He's so sweet and charming.
Overall another wonderful chapter with the suspense and spilling secrets.
