Um... well I really don't what to say... I guess to start off with, I'm glad I read this after Valentine's Day. I was out with a cold on Valentine's day and wouldn't of had the time, but it would have been extremely depressing if I had read it then. I did like it though. Very nicely written...just depressing. -_-

Very dark and creepy from the descriptive opening to the grief-stricken ending.
This was comical: "Just what is so important about this day of open hearts, anyway?” Gourry's voice was muffled by the cheekful of meat he spoke behind.

I became confused over who was reacting here, so I suggest that:

'...your worry for my sake” A chimera scoffed, “But I... '

be changed to : a new paragraph break
"...your worry for my sake--”
A chimera scoffed irritably.
Xelloss ignored him and continued,“But I ... '

I liked the change over from Lina's fluttering eyes (the spider trapping the butterfly part) as she defiantly fights her haziness, to Xelloss opening both his eyes in the next lines (his open eyes mean he's serious, and dangerous.)

You have a knack at setting and keeping a black mood.
