I really enjoyed this. Great job!

This certainly was a clever and highly original story idea, but what impressed me the most was how effectively you captured the essence of Hans Von Hammer. There wasn't a single mistep in any of his thoughts or dialogue, it all rang true to the vision of the late, lamented Robert Kanigher. Terrific work here and I'd love to see the "Enemy Ace" return in another tale by you.

Love this story! I wouldn't worry about General Yeager though, I'm sure he would have loved this story as much as you seem to respect him.

Good heavens, Dannell! Brilliant! A quite astonishing combination, which you made work remarkably well. I must confess, with shame, that I'm rather more familiar with the imaginary Von Hammer than the real Yeager... (well, what d'ya expect when I'm up at 1:30am reading fanfic with homework still undone? ;) ) A really unique idea, splendidly carried out. Standing ovation from this section! ;)
