I don't know how I missed this update of yours, actually, I think it had something to do with my computer dying and then losing all my e-mails (the date seems close enough to match)that I had not yet had a chance to look at but... I digress.
Oh, this was good. I feel sorry for poor Hakkai being caught because of Gojyo's cheating though. Definately gotta love the punishment *grin*

I am so glad that this story *grew* too large for the first challenge. It was well worth the wait. It is wonderful the way it is and I can't imagine any of it being cut to fit the word limit.

I especially enjoyed Sanzo's musings over how he could get away with leaving the two of them behind. I nearly burst out laughing at the idea of Goku and Sanzo on a horse. Second job Doodlings popped into my head.

I loved Hakkai's behavior toward Gojyo in the cell. His line, "I would say, 'too much' but you told me yesterday you could never drink too much, so I suppose you drank exactly the right amount of alcohol last night." was perfect. Just the right amount of sarcasm to show how angry Hakkai is.

Goku's concer for Hakkai and Gojyo was touching. He played the role of Sanzo's concious so well. Goku's caring to Sanzo's indifference.

Gojyo's consequences, no cigarettes and paying back the money, were perfect. After a while with 'a merciless Sanzo and vengeful Hakkai', Gojyo probably would PREFER the jail.
