This was absolutely charming! The narrative voice was excellent - I agree with an earlier reviewer that it has the "classic novel" feel. First person can be difficult to write, especially in fanfic, but you nailed it. Well done!

You, my dear, have made a story out of my wildest dreams. You have made Treasure Planet a classical-ish story with definite splashes of its parent, Treasure Island, a TERRIFIC book, all throughout. Your writing skills are incredible. I absolutley loved all the detail you went into. You didn't just throw out a rewrite of the movie--this story was thoughtful and really made it feel almost like a new and very intriuging story.

I loved this story! I just stayed up until three in the morning finishing it. My favorite part was when Delbert was taking care of Amelia when she was injured. It was so cute! This is my favorite Treasure Planet fic, by the way. Ah it's amazing!

That was AWESOME! The different point of view gave the story and interesting twist and filled in some ends that were left loose in the story.

Hiya! I'm back from the dead, though I'll spare the details here on FFN and tell you in more detail in an email I hope to get out to you over the holidays. I was MIA everywhere for the past 2 months.

Anyway...

Wonderful as always. I love how you managed to keep the very proper, guarded, British air about Amelia here yet at the same time, have the mellower, inner feelings peek out at the appropriate points. The style of writing, I am always so impressed at how cool, proper, very old style English it is, which is so so suitable for Amelia.

Love how much detail you went into as you described Amelia's thoughts as she hugged the Doc on a whim, how she slowly admitted to herself that she did honestly mean the gesture and welcomed the return hug even when having her wits about her. Yes, she was still thinking and analysing a lot, still rationalising, but it shows how she has come from denying or surpressing her feelings to acknowledging them. You did a fabulous job of showing how she opens up to her own emotions, those which aren't rigid and logical, without compromising the very guarded, no-nonsense part of her presonality.

Loved the phrases (among many others)

"we very turbulently sprang into the wide blue quiet that was suddenly our trajectory"
"I myself was feeling absolutely ludicrous"
"a relief sank into me so great I could almost taste it"

Also loved the added little exchange which led to the account ending with:

"And the Doctor and I—we managed very well to delve into the situation we’d created for ourselves, and I am now very happily married to him, and the mother of three daughters and a son that looks just like his father."

Congrats on finishing the fic and a very well written one at that. I simply loved the dry, proper style of writing that is so in line with Amelia's personality. Really incredible.
