I would just like to let you know that I literally have been looking for this story for MONTHS. I read it way back when you first posted it and it stuck with me this entire time. I couldn't remember the title until recently when I was naming my fic. I named it "Battle of the Heart" and I was like why does that sound so familiar? And then I remembered. I tried looking on the forums for anyone to have remembered it but no one was a help. I finally remembered the password to my old account and luckily I had reviewed a chapter of the sequel to this story and I found you again! I'm SO LOOKING FORWARD to rereading this and seeing if I enjoy it as much now as I did way back when! Six years flies by, haha. I was worried you had taken this off the site! They need a better search system.

Hmmm I've read what you've said to people about the characters being OOC - I don't think Hermione is. To the rest, she is the same. But to us - the readers - we get a look inside her mind. You're right - we don't see much of who Hermione really is because the books are written from Harry's POV.

However, I think having McGonnagall all over Hermione's personal buissness in the middle of dinner was not online OOC but rather inappropriate coming from the Deputy-Headmistress haha.

I also have a hard time believing that Harry and Hermione would pull such a stunt in front of their professors and the entire Weasley family - not that I would put it past them if it was just Ron and Ginny in the room, however. Maybe even the twins - if they were in on it.

I like that we got to see a more serious side of Fred, though.

I must admit - I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this first chapter.

I am normally a slash fan myself - though I am a big fan of Ron and Hermione, I tend to write them as a secondary relationship in my stories because they can be so cliche. We all know they're so clearly in love from the start of the books.

But you have managed to capture their personalities so well in such a short amount of time.

I love love LOVE the way you describe Ron in the first paragraph through Hermione's eyes. He is often considered stupid and oblivious and hot headed - yes, he can be those things, and here, you have Hermione embrace that - but she also sees past all of that.

Very sweet ending to the chapter. I look forward to reading the rest and I hope that it will be as moving, amusing, light-hearted, and romantic as this chapter was.

Nice chapter. I have the feeling though that i read the same chapter over and over. In the last 3-4 chapters all Hermione and Ginny do is talk about their crushes while they talk about how sexy Harry is.

Nice chapter. I don't like though that Ron is portrayed as a completely daft.

Very good chapter! Although i don't really like that Hermione always reffering to Harry as sexy, or that she wouldn't have a problem to kiss him or how wonderful is to be so close to him. It's a little annoying since this is a R/Hr story, reading that Hermione is kinda stupid not been in love with the sexy one but with his average looking friend.
