This is utterly fantastic! I love the deadly seriousness twisted with humerous irony - couldn't have been better. Q is one of my favorite StarTrek enemies anyway. We need more like this.

This was haunting. I read it three times (would have reviewed earlier, but I lost internet access for about a month.) I barely remembered the episode you're referring to, but the imagery-- Riker's desperate exhaustion, Q helping him because "I will not be ignored", Riker's feelings about Q and his sense of "mercy"... this was just fantastic.

I know you from X-Men Movieverse, I think, and if I'd known it was you I wouldn't have been surprised at the quality of the fic. I hope you write more Trek stuff-- I always enjoyed your work.
