Riku-Rocks 2009-01-15 . chapter 1Ah, one of the rarely mentioned 'joys' of having small children about...you suddenly learn that things that you have never considered all that dangerous, in fact, *are*. Poor Hiko.
I liked this story quite a lot. The pace ans style were excellent, and I enjoyed the characterisation. How Hiko could be both caring and aloof at the same time was perfect, and Kenshin's reactions to everything were fitting, I think. Well done. |
Meng Xiaojie 2006-03-01 . chapter 1You know, I'm still trying to figure out why I haven't read your stuff before now; you do some grand-tastic work! ^_^
This little morsel of Hiko 'n Kenshin fluff is absolutely no exception, either. You capture Hiko so well here, all throughout. He teases, he panics, and finally sighs in relief, and it's a charmingly WAFFy joyride the whole way.
One image that particularly sticks with me is that bit right after Kenshin falls in, when Hiko begins to realize that his baka deshi isn't re-surfacing. I can easily picture him flinging his cloak off and skidding to the ground, kicking up flurries of snow in his wake, and driving those massive arms down into the icy water in search of his poor little deshi. (Maybe it's the fangirl in me, but I can even see those gorgeous dark eyes gone huge with paternal panic--my God, *that's* a mental drool-fest, if ever there was one!)
Of course, where would Hiko's hunka-hunka-hunkiness be, without a sweet little creme-puff like Ken-chan to balance things out? He's adorable in this ficlet, and not just because he spends the majority of it in mortal peril (which is always a plus). ^_~
All in all, another excellent offering, and I'm glad I read it!
P.S. To answer your email, since my email is being a pain in the petunia at the moment: Yep, I used to go by Bella Flagella, and yep, I'm working on chapter three of "Closure" right now. Sorry to keep you waiting--it should be out pretty soon! *crosses fingers*)
P.P.S. My marriage offer stands. ^_~ |
