Bowled over. Just finished reading all of your stories one after the other, and I can't think of anything else to say, except-I'm bowled over. It always amazes me when I discover an author who can make art in words like this.

First of all I would like to thank you for submitting another chapter even though you have drifted away form Lilo & Stitch. It's greatly appreciated! Good luck with the rest of this great story.

Hey, another great chapter. Good emotion in here. I think I have an idea why Sapphire, Ruby, and, Emerald seem to be so down. However I won't say here.

As you well know my intrest in the Lilo and Stitch universe has faded as well but that didn't stop me from reading this chapter, I know it's hard to keep motivated to write a fic for a show you have no further intrest in and if you ever decide to stop this I hope you know that for me it was an honor and a privlage to enjoy it. You in my eyes will always be one of the best writers on . *hugs and kisses*

I come back to this site after an absence of several days, and I find that WatsonSword is back. Life does have its pleasant surprises.

With The Great Red Dragon gone, possibly forever, this site hardly hosts any more long-time fan-writers of high depth and maturity. 123qaz's reaction is perfectly justifiable. I have not read a great deal of "Gems of Tomorrow", but I have been through many other of your stories, most notably "Empire of the Pacific" and "The Only Thing Worse Than Dying". Which means that I am fully aware of your writing capacities. I expect that being twenty-something years of age (I can do the math, but why bother?) gives a certain advantage, but not necessarily... L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, was writing for forty years and he never produced a great book.

I’m not that much of a writer, but I have some capacity with words. I try to compensate my inactivity through the promotion of the works by those who do write. Especially here, on the L&S section. I do not like to call myself a fan, because the word reminds me too much of its original form, "fanatic". I prefer to call myself an "enthusiast".
My enthusiasms range on a pretty broad spectrum, from Stanley Kubrick to Lilo & Stitch. Sound strange? I don't think so... The world is a varied place...

Film critic Roger Ebert’s style of reviewing has always deeply impressed and moved me. I have often followed the show “At the Movies with Ebert and Roeper”.
Sadly, this show is now being terminated. Ironically, the thread once again leads to the Disney Company, which ran the show on its ABC Channel, and failed to reach a new contract agreement with the two critics. It seems that these days, Disney is always a case of “no news is good news”.

But Ebert, despite his cancer and this setback, is still in good shape. Last year, his long-time friend, film director Werner Herzog, dedicated his latest film, “Encounters at the End of the World”, to him. In response, Roger wrote a letter in which he expressed his praise for Herzog.

I am neither a long-time friend of yours, nor is this story dedicated to me. But I ever since I started on this site, I have always received a deep impression from your writings. I wish to write my own sincere “letter”. In response no to anything directed towards me as an individual, but towards your impact on this site. Here it is:

Dear WatsonSword,

This is not a review. It is a letter. A letter to an Internet user of the kind which is all too rare in this age of consumption and lack of earnestness. A letter to someone who, although not of great renomee in this wide world, has left his seal on the small, almost irrelevant section of the Internet where fanatics and enthusiasts come together and put down their thoughts on “paper” to keep alive the emotions which were generated by a certain franchise that has now passed its Golden Age, although it may yet receive its Silver Age.

I could say how much I am thankful for your capacity to entertain. Or your excellent style of writing. Or your emotional involvement. But these are things I could give thanks to another author for. Or which another reviewer could thank you for. To you, I can give thanks for other things which one is hardly likely to find on a Fansite.

I must show my gratitude for your intellectual stimulation. To pass on intellect is not a priority on this kind of site. And, to be honest, it is not required, which is a good thing. Even so, there is someone that has to do it. And with the Dragon gone from these shores, that someone would appear to be you. Your stories do not fail to entertain or to be emotionally charged. But they come with something more: thoughtfulness. A reader who has finished one of your stories will be left thinking about it for a long time. For your stories stay in the mind. They make people think about important issues without preaching. And that is a great gift, especially in today’s world.

Yet all that subtly concealed intellect does not crush a sense of wonder. If ever there was a “matured” version of LILO & STICH, or DIGIMON for that matter, then your 7 stories are them. Reading them, one can find many of the elements that made L&S worthwhile. The line between good and evil, the chance of redemption, the value of family. The characters are, to put it bluntly, well-drawn and sharp. And although the contents are never romanticised, but presented in a frank, down-to-earth, even realistic manner unusual for cartoon fanfiction, they hold a charm which is hard to find. Your fics require no suspension of disbelief like most do, and they work all the more effectively for that.

There are authors on this site who have taken their eyes off the ball- the reason why they originally started writing. A true author writes because they enjoy writing, and want to share something with whomever they can. On both this site and the real world, many authors eventually lose sight of their goals. In the real world, they are drawn to the fame and money. On this site, they are attracted by creating their own fanbase and receiving flattering reviews. Which is little good, for it is all very illusionary- in the wider world, who knows about the writers of L&S fanfiction?

But it would seem to me that despite your popularity and following, the attitude which resonates in your writings has remained much the same over the years. The attitude of someone who takes writing fanfiction as a personal pastime, yet puts such effort as required that other people can share whatever pleasure you get from your hobby. It is no mean feat that even over-demanding reviewers like avatarjk137 feel that your work gives them their due.

A true author writes because they enjoy writing. But they also write mainly for one person- themselves. Yet it is a great quality if they can manage to share what they wrote for themselves. And I have never seen you fail to do so. Even if your return should prove only temporary, it is an event which should not go unnoticed for anybody who thinks they love LILO & STITCH.

Holy crap, an update! I'd come to terms that this would be yet another fanfiction that would never be finished several months ago... This sudden return makes me happy. Your fans are still here, just remember that!

This chapter was very well written. The chapter length was amazing, you used description very well. You've done well.
123qaz told me you were going to quit. Quality fanfiction like this shouldn't be put to rest. you're too good an author.

Aloha!

Oh my god!

Watsonsword is back!

It is so good to see you back here. I thought you had quited writing fanfiction. I have to tell others that you are here again and soon. Most of the writer generation has changed during your abcence and they might not even know you and your fics. The older ones remember you as ome anonymous readers. I was just a bit interested in fanfiction when you were on the top of the world that is Lilo & Stitch fanfiction. Now I do reviewing here while planning for a fic of my own and you are back again. Allow me to introduce myself.

I am 123qaz or as I am also known "that one idiot there somewhere".

Now I have to say that this fic and your writing has retained its sky-high quality. The newest chapter is as pure dynamite as every one before it. And to think you started this simultaneously with Empire in Pacific (It still creeps me out.)this really is a long effort from you.

Your writing has far greater amount of well described emotion, action, places, characters and situations than many of those books that are called "new classics". And what still continues to amaze me is your ability to write dialogue and create needed mood for current situation. And you are still the only mortal being aside he himself that can get an entirely positive review from His Overcritizingness avatarjk137.

If we ever meet in person I want your autograph.

Many Lilo & Stitch authors have had problems recently. Some have been busy with school, some have been depressed, some have lost loved ones and some have just grown up to realize that world is a cold and cruel place. I hope you can come in terms with your problems and find the inspiration you first had during The Golden Age of Lilo & Stitch Fanfiction. It was bad a thing that the series ended. It was even worse thing that Chris Sanders left Disney. Still most of us have the series recorded and good old Chris Sanders is happily working on new projects like this new comic book of his (Gotta buy it!). And we always have good memories and fanfiction that keeps those memories alive.

I don't blame you if you stop writing Lilo & Stitch fanfiction. You have no real reason to continue but you also have no real reason to quit. Chris Sanders didn't end everything when he was kicked out of Disney and his beloved creations were taken away from him to be reimagined so that Disney could make a stupid anime series with none of the warmth and the beauty of the original movies.

Oh and there are us. The people who love to read your fics and would be eager to read and review anything you had written. I would ask you to think about it. Could you give it a try? Many people would feel happy if you would write Lilo & Patch. And isn't it one of the reasons that fanfiction is written. To make others happy with one's stories.

Whatever you do I respect your choice.

At least we get to see how this ends.

Your humble reader

Awesome! Fortunately for me I just read through this story last month, and even though it was a year late you didn't miss a beat the story is as good as ever so please don't abandon it... (You still misspelled Pleakley too.)

Also Chris Sanders didn't even take his own show being canceled that badly, he is still working in animation and making a lot of his own personal projects, so you shouldn't let that get you down. (He wasn't even working on the writing or directing of the show anyway.)

When I saw this fic updated, I was shocked and delighted, it's hard to say which of the emotions was stronger. I'm not sure if any fanfiction is worth a year's wait for a new chapter, but if there is one, I'm certain it's yours. As usual, your writing is in an entirely different league from 99 percent of the authors on this site, and better than most of the remaining percent. Excellent, excellent work.

Heh….

Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald…..

Red, Blue and Green….

Heart, Mind and Soul…..

This is really a classic character construction, I myself have once thought of making some similar characters and wasn’t even going to be very subtle with what they will resemble, yet later on I decided against that idea. Too many other things to do.
Well anyway let me just say that you do have a way with words, you have a very good idea of when to write something and when to write something. The only thing that I am still having trouble getting used to is how you always seem to project your own life experience on Stitch’s character. Well im not saying that I could do better but every time I read Stitch do something out of Angst in one of your stories I wonder if this is the same Stitch I heard ay the following thing:
“B.R.B…”
“What does B.R.B stand for?”
“Big, Red, Battleship! Ahahahahaha!”
(I’m sorry if I just assume that you have seen Leroy and Stitch)
So you could still improve on your ability to portray Stitch the way he is, or you can just keep doing it your way if you are writing for yourself and it helps you to open your heart.
Anyway, the story is rather enjoyable and that being a compliment to your skill as a writer. I’ll be sure to read it until the end.
