Awesome sotry, and I stayed up WAY too late trying to finish it, I was falling asleep instead of helping at my siblings play rehersal, but it was so worth it.

I especially enjoyed the conversation in chapter two within metaphors. I really like how you rounded out Sydney's character, the michievious tendencies and little quirks you gave him seem perfectly natural. And the whole part with the days of being pusued near the end were cool, Hardin's The Man.

And of course, the way you fleshed out teh Mullenkamp cult was cool too, especially since the game leaves it so open.

I actually read this story on another website, but I thought it was one of best stories I have ever read. It was beautiful, and very well-written. I have read some of your other stories as well, I enjoyed them very much as well. I really cannot describe how much I like your stories. But, definately keep writing.

I know something Hardin doesn't know... poor little "nice guy" we really ought to make a t-shirt for them all. "I'm a swell guy!" on the front, and a big bullseye on the back. Ah but this chapter was good *pat pat* bravo. Your Sydney, is as ever, marvelously nuanced and slippery!

Augh, I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed this story thus far. There are so few VS fics, much less good ones. The world you weave round your characters draws me in and stays true to the game - and chapter 14's pillaging of weapons brings back fond memories. *grin*

Only managed to read till ch. 2 of your story but I have to say your characterizations are very good, your lines for Sydney and Hardin sound very much in character and expand on their personalities. Hardin's journey with the Müllenkamp sect has been very enjoyable to follow and I'm curious to see what will happen next. Your descriptions of people and events are very good, and you make Sydney appear to have the sharp wih you say he has, show not just tell, which is rare among fanfic'ers. You're a very good writer ! Fantastic job ! I'll definitely read this story to the end. What I've seen so far is fan fiction of high quality and that's rare !

It's funny actually...I first read this fic at your site, (where it ends at chapter 9, oddly enough...)and while I eagerly (read: Impatiently ) awaited the next chapter, I decided to wander over here to see if I could find any more Vagrant Story gems. And 'lo and behold, the first one I see is Burning Bridges...which I'd been waiting so eagerly for, with four more chapters to boot! Now, on to the real stuff...I ADORE this story! I've developed quite a fondess for Sydney,(whom you've fleshed out wonderfully!) and I seem to be developing an equal fondness for Hardin, thanks to you. _ This fic is an absolute masterpiece of writing. I can honestly say you are one of the most talented ficcers I've come across, and I feel lucky to have done so. You have a talent for making the story come alive, for making the characters seem more like flesh and blood people then mere words on a page. Okay, I freely admit that I've never played Vagrant Story (though I want to more with every fic I happen to stumble on), but this story is amazing. I love the interaction with the duke and the duchess...I think you have a talent for breathing life into characters and showing us more of their personality with each chapter. You keep hinting that Sydney is up to something, and for the life of me, I have no idea what it is. This would be the part of the review where I urge you to write more. You said in the beginning that it wasn't mocking religion...and it isn't. You're showing both sides, although it's obvious that the cult is on the side of the protagonists. I'm very sorry if this review doesn't make much sense, but I *will* be reading as much as you write; this story is simply incredible.
