when a story starts like this, distance is key. I think you have weighed the choices and made a fair balance of Gil and Sara's yearning for each other. Not touchy-feely but enough. Good job.

That line really says a lot about Sara. She is carrying a lot of emotional scars. And you manage to find the emotions of the Geeks so well, and portray them so well.

Excellent piece of angst, Mandy. Like always, I could feel Sara's angst as if it were my own. But tell me one thing: Please tell me that there's gonna be a sequel to this... I wanna read with my own eyes that everything is well between Grissom and Sara

I especially loved the last bit: "There was still so much they needed to work through, and she still wasn’t sure if he could ever love her, but being here, wrapped in his arms was everything. Smiling, she surrendered to the gentle tug of sleep, content to know that while he was here, he cared. And for now, that was enough."

This was fabulous! I could feel the emotion in the words that Sara was saying to him, and it was heart warming to hear Grissom trying to convince her that she was nothing like her mother and that he did care for her.

I'm thinking sequel.
