i didn't read doppleanger, but i'm the author of secrets. Chapter 1 had chapters 1-5. I made a mistake when i posted it, and i don't know how to change it. Also, i'm not very good with summaries. So soryy about that.

This is really awesome writing. A Clark Kent copy, that's not bad at all. Actually, you could even have more in your story and I'd bet readers like me would have no objections. Great job!

I'm delighted to see you've enjoyed Doppelganger. I didn't actually mean to envision Rob as Jor-El's bastard child but rather the result of a long ago mating with one of Jor-El's ancestors. It sounded to me as thought the Els had been the ones coming to Earth for all these years.

As for any sequels...well, you never know. The implication that Rob might find some further manifestation of his Kryptonian heritage in the future was clear enough. How much is the Kryptonian DNA diluted with time is a question I must ponder. As for baby coming-I've always felt Superman could and should have a child with Lois and contrary to those naysayers until now, APparently that thought is echoed in current Superman comic lore as Lois just informed Clark she wanted to have a baby. We'll see.

I love your idea of giving Clark a double and exploring all the possibilities that result from that. I thought it was especially interesting that Rob got to meet both "sides" of Clark (Kal and Superman), which seemed to bring them both closer and, in a way, help Rob learn something important about himself.

Last but not least: Chloe!! You did a great job of showing us how well she'd fit in at the Daily Planet, and I especially loved the playful scenes with hubby!

Um...will the sequel be titled: "Baby Makes Three?" :)

Can I just say I don't know where to begin? I'm beside myself here. The idea of KarateRob meeting Kal in Metropolis is a head-explode-y notion, but to carry it off in such a vivid fashion? Absolutely runs the risk of exploding other parts. *g* Loved the action! Not to mention you've managed to make one aspect of the SV landscape work so impeccably for you (would that the show's writers were as able to use the caves and their mythology as imaginatively), I tip my hat.

As for Rob possibly coming into some sort of Kryptonian legacy in the future? Sounds like fodder for a sequel to me! You know, should the doppelganger muse nibble once more. *weg*

Great idea and great fic. I loved that you integrated Rob Meltzer in the SV universe in a very clever, justified way. Everything made perfect sense and I enjoyed the interaction of Clark/Kal/Rob. Great writing on a very well thought of and developped story.

Aw! That was really sweet. Meeting your doppelganger is always a pain in the head, but meeting him first as Kal and then finding out he's Superman? That's got to be worth a sleepless night or three. And I do like the idea that whatever Kryptonians first wandered around Earth (an idea which I don't actually buy -- what could possibly entice them to leave?) might have left genes behind, which would be well mixed into the population by now. (Hm, Rob never actually picked up a piece of the GREEN stuff...) The characterizations were absolutely perfect, Lois especially, and the "bad guy" not only perfectly believable, but not nearly so bad as some real-life characters out there after all. (Oh, hey, if you think about writing a sequel, about that photo of bigfoot...) Have some green tea!

When I first started reading this, I had to suppress a complete fangirl squee of having Clark and Rob in the same room. After that, I kind of assumed that this would be pretty breezy, funny, typical crossover fare. But instead your story was involved, creative, and surprisingly well-thought out. I always dig Chloe=Lois and having Rob be the illegitimate spawn of Jorel was just too cool.

Really, I was shocked at how good this was (which I really shouldn't have been, since all of your stuff is good). Kudos! ~wendymeze
