I very much enjoyed this story. It provides some plausible background on Spike as well as some solid justification for his powerful attraction to Buffy. The bit about Miss Edith was a nice touch.

Love it. Possibly my very favourite story ever. The narrative and plot are so authentic that I often find 'Glorious' and 'Fool For Love' blurring together in my memory. Absolutely perfect Spike characterisation, well-researched settings, Spike-esque poetry. A pleasure to read.

What more can I say but WOW! Absolutely fabulous job of characterization. You set the atmosphere perfectly. The classical allusions (both in the poetry and in his thoughts/speech) were an inspired touch and captured an essential element of Victorian England and Englishmen perfectly!
