Tomoe was killed by Kenshin's own blade! She tried to stop someone from stabing Kenshin, but (with his eyes closed, mind you) swung his sword and killed the attacker and Tomoe. Tomoe gave Kenshin part of his scar.(the other part came from Tomoe's first love)
