In your summary you say "What more could you want?" My answer to that would be "A plot. Some characterization."

While short one-shot fics can't go into the depth that longer stories can, you STILL need, (and don't have here) a storyline. "Carter and Abby watching a video together and making jokes" is an anecdote, not a story. And as for the characters themselves, while I'm NOT a Carby fan, that isn't the problem with this. The problem is that these two people aren't, in any recognizable way, Carter and Abby. They are simply two faceless ciphers who could be ANY two people in ANY fictional universe, but in this fic you happen to have named them Carter and Abby and put them in an ER setting. When I read it I don't 'hear' them saying the dialogue. I don't picture them in my head.

What you have here is cute. It's fluffy. But it isn't a story, and it isn't really an ER fic.
