Wonderfully done. The wording was subtle, beautiful, simple but full of meaning. This story had just the right amount of romance, sadness and fairytale turns of phrase, and it was gorgeous. The emotions were powerful, the dialogue effective, and the darker take on the aftermath of the average happily-ever-after was well-executed. Great job. ^^

the ending confused me, but I guess it's up to the reader to guess what Eric and Ariel REALLY want.

There is one thing I can think of. I only saw the ending of the little mermaid two. so I have no idea how she became a mermaid. And of course, if Ariel can turn into a human being, then surely Eric can.. get what he wants.. temporarily?
