kARINA MARTINEZ 2008-10-06 . chapter 30 THE STORY IS GETTING REALY GOOD...
CAN'T WAIT WHAT U GONNA WRITE NEXT... |
crazytalkforlemons 2008-06-08 . chapter 1Wow! Fan-bloody-tastic! I love it already, and even though it's apparent that it's not going to be picked up again, I'm going to keep reading it!
IT'S THAT GOOD. :D |
CrosbyFan 2008-03-07 . chapter 30Wow! Rarely does one find a fanfiction that is both well-written and a good story line that has not been done to death already. Your originality and your writting style make this story fantastic. It saddens me to see that this has not been updated in two years because this is a story that I actively want to read.
You have done an amazing job with this piece. I would love to read more. |
Dem 2007-10-23 . chapter 30 Amazing, why did you stop though?
Please continue and finish this great story.
I'll beg if I have to.
PLease, oh please, oh please... |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 30 ok, so I'm at ch. 27 but then I realized there were only 3 chapters left. Obviously too many things were happening in the story, the war was just beginning! so I suspected that you wouldn't be able to wrap it up in 3 chapters. I noticed that you haven't updated since april, 2006. Does this mean that you've given up the story? It's such a pity, because finished - it could be a jewel in the fandom, a must read. As it is, it's just a great WiP, and lots of people, as a policy/habit, don't read them (esp me, if I'd known, I wouldn't have started reading this, although I *have* enjoyed the story so far)
well, I hope that some day you'll finish this, meanwhile - take care. |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 23 nope, there wasn't too much detail. i was actually curious as to how they were going to fight the war - in Hogwarts? most stories use Hogwarts as a focal/meeting point in the war, but I'm glad that there are such things as training camps in your story, makes it more believable.
and i like your take on the Horcrux, as well.
and lastly, I do hope that despite the war, we'll get bits and pieces of harry/draco :) |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 20 maybe there wasn't much plot advancement per se, but it had very important loose-end-tying bits, Draco and Harry confronting the alternate realities a little. And it's a good thing that the war has started, for Draco I mean, because with the flurry of activity and the urgency and the *war* in general, he won't have time to be traumatized by the AU events. and maybe by the end of the war, his reaction to his feelings will be... won't be quite as bad. i don't know, I'll just have to see I guess. Reading onwards. |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 18 huh. russian roulette is right. only instead of the empty sockets, there are poison darts, screws, bullets not made to kill, but to maim... |
 poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 17 "evil" Draco is my favourite ;) |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 16 ok, after 2 chapters of Draco suffering through inhuman pain, the contrast of Harry going about his merry way is jarring, to say the least.
Draco is broken, in a way that is... different from Azkaban, and yet, in all these universes, the pain he suffers, in terms of gravity, is indistinguishable. I don't know what's worse, ripped away from the edges of happiness, torture, death, insanity, despair, being simply *broken* by your family, which is perhaps the worst. I wonder how Draco is going to survive all these memories. He's strong, our little dragon, but all the horror that he's lived through - how do you stay sane or just manage to *function* after all this?? I can't reconcile these versions of Draco with a Draco who remembers all this, but manages to find peace nonetheless. |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 15 I'm practically speechless. Beautifully executed brutally. cruelty. inhumanity. fundamental wrongness. I truly ache for your Draco. |
poisonshock 2007-08-06 . chapter 12 I started reading this about 2 hours ago and couldn't stop. You got me hooked with intelligent writing, plot, setting and perhaps most importantly, well-thought out characters. Fascinating facets *cringes at alliteration* of Draco there. And also a brutal social criticism, esp in the AU where Draco is in Azkaban.
You mentioned how frustrating/surprising it was that well-written stories get less reviews than the, ahem, shall we say, less fleshy stories. I believe that although stories like yours get less reviews, the ones that they actually get, are perhaps, more appreciative - of the skill needed to write thoughtful stories. Not that stories in general are thought-less, but you need to put a certain amount of planning, thought and experience to write good stuff. Sort of like the difference between.. Britney Spears and Ani Difranco, shall we say.
In any case, I was planning on leaving a review at the end of the story, but ended up so touched by a certain scene in this chapter, that I couldn't resist letting you know.
"Malfoy absently crossed his arms around his stomach and hugged himself. He spared a moment to bask in the warmth of what it felt like to be him, here, in this life. He could almost. . . love himself, and that felt heart-breakingly good."
This passage seems to speak for itself, I think. It truly touched me, having experienced a similar... moment. |
Insanely Evil Kitty Cat 2007-07-15 . chapter 30Why did you have to leave it at a cliff hanger? That was evil, not to mention not updating in a freaking YEAR!! Please, more. Don't abandon this awesome story, please...T.T |
