I just finished reading what you've posted, and I absolutely love the series. The only real problem I have is that it seems to be unfinished. I hope that your main page is right in saying that you're working on chapter 13; I can't wait to see what's going on with this investigation against Shizuru and the bits of her past that Natsuki is slowly unveiling. Please post more soon!

I've been following this fanfic for a while and especially enjoyed the sweet vignettes and the recent Mai-Hime series continuation with Shizuru and Natsuki.

What really draws me to this fanfic is the quality of writing, how every word describes Shizuru, even a broken Shizuru, so well. I love the narrative humor and poor Natsuki's ever eroding dignity that Shizuru cheerfully chips away at, but the new continuation about Shizuru's past has really taken my breath away. I mean, Shizuru is so much of an enigma and the series, both Mai Hime and Mai Otome, detail so little about her younger years that I can see this other Shizuru who's sinister and not at all like our beloved kaicho-sama, though who knows how much the detective said was actually true.

Anyway, I truly want to see the happy ending for Shizuru and Natsuki, especially with all that angst Shizuru went through the past few chapters, as well as Shizuru's past explained. You've characterized this couple so well that I wouldn't hesitate to call this fic probably one of the best, or if not the best, that I've ever read. I sincerely hope that you still plan on completing this fic.

Come on... updated in '07? You stopped at the worst part possible... please tell me you havent given up on this story... Please.

Gah! That was just about the most gripping thing I've ever read in this fandom. It's not too often an author manages to be simultaneously witty and suspenseful.
I suppose after so long you've given up on it, but if you haven't, I'll be back to read more.
