Another lovely chapter. I like the patter between Pippin and Sam. Not enough writers include this sort of interaction between these two hobbits. Nice work (as usual).

Oh...caught me by surprise, even when you up-front told us that this story takes place AFTER the Quest. I just automatically assumed pre-Quest, ala Bilbo's adventures with the trolls, etc... Nice job. "Masters", eh? That's too good. I love the way you don't supply the reader with everything, and let us use our imagination to fill in the unanswered questions. Nice job. I am awaiting the next story (and you know which one I mean...)

Wonderful start, you've got here and I look forward to the rest. These characters are wonderfully drawn and very interesting. Pippin trying to figure out that age-old 'what's it all about?' question and Sam being confounded that he'd even want to worry on it is a terrific concept and very unique. The fact that you've got two characters here that have grown considerably and are trying to somehow fit themselves back into their old-but-changed roles and lives... Well, it's fodder for wonderful fic and I could not be more pleased to see you doing it.

I've no idea why it is not showing up in the general listing but the only way I can even see this story is to put at least one filter on the listing, such as "humor" or Character=Samwise. If I leave the listing as Search by Update Date or Search by Publish Date, it doesn't matter, the story doesn't show up at all. If I add just one filter, then it shows up. SIGH.

Great second chapter! That was really interesting about the troll. Well, I haven't much more to say besides Update Soon!
