It makes a reader feel sympathy for the character and it sort of makes one's heart ache with sadness yet wonder. You're really good. Keep writing. Interesting how you used colours to decribe his love for Sonja and how hellish that moment of loosing her was.

it seems that this might be a good exercise, writing with color prompts. sorry future english teacher here! lol
