I like this. Thank you. I always HATE it when they don't include Peter. Always. It drives me insane. I also hate it when they make it look like he's an idiot who was evil from the beginning. So Thank you. Great job.

Yay! Finally someone else who likes Peter! Okay, okay, so maybe we don't like him exactly, but he is a very interesting character - and incredibly vital.(This is possibly the point where I should tell you I always liked Edmund from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe for much the same reasons...). Great way of exploring this - I really like it.

Wow. I mean Wow! that is really deep, i guess i never thought of it that way. but i am just curious, can you think of a one shot in which peter did not betray his friends, but was there the whole time. it would be interesting.

Uhh, freaky. I still hate Peter, but the irony had occured to me before--if not for his monstrous betrayal, many more would have died. The way you show this fic actually reminds me of Gollum--he betrays those who showed him the greatest trust, yet his betrayal, while evil in itself, brings about good. Excellent job.

O.o; That was ... wow... but I doubt the whole thing with the Whomping Willow is actually like that. I mean, in the third book, Harry and them got through just fine without a rat. After all, Snape went down there and he's not an Animagus and James went after him without needing to transform. Furthermore, even if they were caught by Dumbledore, James and Sirius are too loyal to their friends that they would still try and go after Remus anyways. Also I doubt Remus would have died, just because of that - he has been a werewolf since he was a 'very small boy' from the third book.
Aside from that, truly a marvel. I suppose Lily is still alive in the end, since James ran off with Harry. I don't know why he suddenly ran away without Lily...

Oh, I love this! Especially the Remus part, because I must confess, I forgot about that part of Peter's contribution to the Marauders... And I completely agree with what you're saying here. I can see Peter as being either the tag-a-long, or the beloved fourth musketeer, but he's always THERE - and, it seems like it's even more tragic if he was beloved. Thanks for this. :)

First off, I have to say that I most definitly (I can never spell that word right!) agree with you. Peter is an incredibly important character in the Harry Potter world, and I hate it when people leave him out of stories.

First of all, like you showed, he was a vital part of the Marauders. He was the small one for the knot on the Willow, and he was also probably a decoy for pranks.

He also helps (unintentionally) in holding back Voldemort. He makes stupid mistakes that sometimes prevent Voldemort from going through with his plans.

Now that you've let me go on with my Peter rant, let me dive in to the subject of your fic.

My favorite: Remus' death scene, and Sirius refusing to tell the Potter's secret.

Least favorite: James running away with Harry. I know it's your fic, but James doesn't strike me as the type to run away from trouble.

Anyway, I have to go.
