AI 2009-11-29 . chapter 1 Really beautiful, especially the ending. I love the real, non-Disneyfied fairy tales. |
 cirsea 2009-08-24 . chapter 1 You're genius. It's a wonderful and sad story, thanks^^ |
O0THEGIRLWHOWROTETHISFANFIC0O 2009-08-15 . chapter 1I already reviewed to you in Skyehawk, but I have to repeat it: WOW. It was so beautiful I actually cried, and at the very end I got shivers. You write amazingly. BTW, can I translate it into Hebrew? It was so great I think more people should be able to read it, seriously. |
beginningxofxthexend 2009-06-09 . chapter 1I love this story! I love the original one, and I also love your spin on it!
I love the characters you used in it, how you built the world (the names (the thought of Gryffindor as a country (and all it's people being as brave and foolhardy as them) made me laugh xD ) and races ), the way you used words to create your own fairytale (how the gryffindors found the lines of the barrier and placed a rock as a sign of it), how you made things a cross between the story and your world, how you found solutions to things (the potions, father instead of sisters)...
But most of all, I love the mood you set. I could feel Draco's love for Harry and toward the end of the fic, I actually cried. You moved me to tears. The ending was simply beautiful. You made that painful experience of being torn apart into something beautiful. Because that what it was.
I saw it between my eyes, the forest, the barrier, the pretty lights, Draco dissappearing, his soft smile as it happened... And I felt peace. Even as I cried. And that last line; "And Draco had never felt more alive." ... It was captivating.
I love this fic. |
brightandsunny 2009-04-27 . chapter 1beautifully written...very reminiscent of Anderson's Little Mermaid... I remember watching the Disney version when I was little, and then realizing with dismay once I was old enough to read that the ending of the original story was very different... yet, I always felt that despite my affinity for happy endings, Anderson's tale always made a much deeper and everlasting impression on me.. just like Shakespeare's works, it is always the tragedies that become the greatest masterpieces... I'm rather glad you ended the story this way, it adds an element of reality to the story, sorrow intermingled with joy.. .. and while I do wish you'd write a sequel detailing the aftermath of the ending.. it makes sense to end it this way too... because not all stories in life have happy endings or end in a fairy tale splendor, and not all endings are known and told... I like to think of life as an intricate web, some people we know will cross our lives, and continue into the horizon, and we may wonder what became of them, but never truly know... thank you for this story |
Toraus 2009-01-29 . chapter 1I enjoyed the story. I loved the original version of The Little Mermaid as a child, so I guessed the end at the beginning. I really liked this version of it though, it was interesting. ^-^ |
el 2008-12-23 . chapter 1 made me cry. fantastic story. my heart is aching. |
Insanity at its Fullest 2008-11-29 . chapter 1I love this. It's amazing. |
nim 2008-11-08 . chapter 1 wow. i like how you held true to the original story or the Little Mermaid. you shouldn't get slack for not putting up a character death warning because the littlest mermaid did kill herself in the end (so did alot of fairytale characters), so it's the readers fault for not thinking that fairytale are all end happily ever after. |
LynLin 2008-09-05 . chapter 1Well, this makes me want to cry. Just...wow. Fantastic job. |
Jasper's Flaw 2008-05-07 . chapter 1You Know this story almost made me cry then I realised that it was a REALLY good ending to it It shows that Draco loved Harry enough to let him go and truly.. isnt that what love is? |
Angel Of Lovex 2008-05-04 . chapter 1T.T so sad..i cried so hard..poor draco! i wish he and harry got together...>.> |
Victoria Humblydum 2008-02-29 . chapter 1Wow, amazing and depressing story. Needless to say, I loved it. |
cloudy 2008-02-02 . chapter 1 Maybe you could avoid irate readers by marking this story as tragic instead of merely angsty. I am not sure angsty is a strong enough warning. All in all, good story. Sad...but good. |
Spirit of Pez 2007-07-09 . chapter 1Gosh, how could people expect a character death warning for a fic based off, "The Little Mermaid." I guess they may have never heard the original story. This was a lovely take on the tale and was a fantastic if very sad read. It made me tear up a bit, which rarely happens, so bravo! Oh I must seem strange having already sent you a message and now I'm reviewing you, it's uncharacteristic of me, but I had the sudden urge to tell you what I thought of this. And your final thought of putting up a warning is well-founded, it does ruin the story a great deal.
Anyways, I hope to read more from you soon!
