Bloody hell girl, you've written a story that's about as well known as Ethel M. Grimes "In Memory of Elizabeth". *whistles and admires all the reviews and the story itself* not many people are willing to come up with an OC for Ratigan, its quite interesting, and you came up wtih a wonderful story. ^^

That was one of the most amazing stories I've ever read! And it didn't even have Meg and Basil love in it. ^_^ (my personal favorite part - besides the author notes...) I would have liked to see how their relationship progressed, but this was a beautiful ending and it tied everything up nicely. I actually LOVED the melodrama and how touching the story was. Rose's life story was the stuff of a bestselling novel. Well done! :D

Woah. Now this is creepy. Not the story, I mean. But, I had a dream that I was walking around in Ratigan's lair. Then, Ratigan appeared out of nowhere, and told me he needed something to be written, and he wanted to use me. I lied that I couldn't write, then he wrote on a chalkboard, after demonstrating on my writing, the same thing that Ratigan wrote for Rose(except for the Jane Eyre book part). When he started to count down, I woke up. I had that dream a yesterday, and I just started reading this today. Creepy. I love it so far.

i just watched GMD a few days ago and became obsessed with it...you gotta love that movie! so i came over here and went looking for GMD fanfction and found you! i've spent the last few days reading your stories, and i like them! i like Meg Sarentis, and i love the whole Meg/Basil thing. i loved Meg's defiant character. i'm so sorry to hear that you will not be continuing in that area. i'm serious, it breaks my heart! honestly it does. it makes me so sad! just when thing were kicking off between them! i was kind of hoping they would tie the knot...someday...

i must complement you. in reading your stories, i have noticed an improvement in your writing. as i read from the older ones to the newer ones, i can see dramatic improvement, which is especially shown in Every Rose Has A Thorn. i loved the character Rose. poor girl. the other story which shows your dramatic improvement is There Was No One Left To Speak Out. I loved that story not only because i love GMD, but because WW2 is my favorite part of history to study. but anyways, you've improved so much! it amazes me. I think your next best one to those two was Riddle Me This. i kind of like how there was a different villian instead of Ratigan, even though Ratigan is a pretty cool villian. And all of those riddles! how on earth did you think them up? they were so cool! there was no way i would have been able to figure them out.
Megana, i hope you continue writing here, even if it isn't (sniff, sniff) GMD. Good luck on any future writing projects you may have! I hope you continue to amaze others with your writing as you have amazed me. --jla2snoopy

I kind of feel like you left Rose's relationship with Ratigan as a big question mark. Did you mean to? Anyway, good story, going on my favorites list, and I'll miss your writing. Wow! I absolutely LOVE this story. This my fav GMD fanfic of ALL TIME. I only wish there was more!

I'm sad they didn't end up together, but frankly, how could they unless she really WAS evil... And who wants to be somebody's fall back girl, anyway? OUCH. >.<

Anyway, I really enjoyed reading this. I haven't been this engaged in a work in a long time. I felt emotion over this one. It was SO well done.

Three favourite bits -- the message on the blackboard with her all dolled up for her birthday, the husband and wife facade and Ratigan's definition of love before he kisses her. Good stuff!

as sad and...can I say 'empty'? (not in a bad way) as the ending was...it suited the story, and it suited Rose. She COULDN'T end up with Ratigan, and she couldn't end up with Basil either. She's an independent spirit deep down, and it was only right that she went on alone. And there WAS hope. I liked it.
So no more GMD stories? Time to move on, eh? Well you have the talent, so I think things will only get better for you. Keep trying for that novel! It'll come some day.

Oh, so sad of an ending but I'm glad you stood your moral ground instead of giving in for the happy romance. Sometimes the sad ending is the better choice. I'm so sorry to hear that you won't be writing here anymore, but there's always your already published work to cherish. I myself have left the fanfiction alone for a while, trying to write novels and an auto-biography. I wish you luck and will keep in touch! Great way to end a good fanfic "career" hon!
