I like it, a lot! Except, you also itallicize, a lot! I used to do the same thing, too, which is the only reason I'm saying anything about it. I still really like the story, and I do think it's far more likely than a romance, at this stage. Not sure if you've finished the series yet, but it gets interesting ;)

hey, this is FANTASTIC! the battle scenes are skillfuly thought out, not some power ranger ninja crap. i myself am not much of a writer, but i know how to tell when someone is, and i think you should keep writing. i think the relationship between katara and zuko is very realistic here too. well i rambell too much, so i just wanted to say you did a fantastic job on this. bye
