(First of all: I'm not an english speaker, so even if I can read the languague pretty well I tend to commit lame grammatical mistakes. I beg you to forgive them and try to get my review well. If that's not too much of a bother, I mean...)

Congratulations for writting one of the most coherent, believeable and interesting fanfics I've ever read. The way you created your story and gradually, carefully showed it up to the reader was inspiring for me. It feels so... right, you get to think "hey, this could be the official sequel to the game!" Also, your bond between start and ending is brilliant. Not too much to criticize here; nothing that hasn't already been pointed out by previous reviews.

The only thing that bugged me at some parts was your narrative style. I would have wished it was more intense,carried on-like, or less introspective (for example, in the rape scene, I tought that Squall was being too aware of the situation instead of his own feelings of fear, disgust and so). But it is an entirely personal perception, and in general you can describe surroundings and emotions just the right way. I'm talking about the lovemaking scene. Not only beautiful and touching, but also, incredibly in-character, wich is something always well received.

I think that would be all for my comment. Once more, congratulations, and thank you for sharing this novel-like fanfic with all of us. I'll be following you for more stories, so please don't stop writting!

Amazing, this is great story. I really like how you were able take such a unique idea and flesh it out so well. This has been a pleasure to read.

I found this story on IcyBrian a few years ago. It was my favorite story for a time, now it's my second favorite. My first atempt at a fanfic used this as a reference, although it was rejected. Rightly so, now I look back on it. My writing skill has greatly improved since then.

I want to ask permission to use this story's plot and some of the original characters, to rewrite my failed first fanfic at some point. In that story, I'll point people toward this, so you'll at least get some free advertising out of it. If you're interested in the concept, it's like an alternative ending, plus a sequel to this story. (but it's quite different, so only the plot and characters are relevent, so try not to hate me for stealing your thunder, so to speak.) I came up with it the first time I read this, when Squall and Rinoa merged.

If you have reservations about it, I'm open for discussion, but as it stands now, one of your characters in this story will be a key antagonist much later on in my series of FFVI fanfics entitled 'Thy Forsaken Soul.'

First of all, I first read this story what...about two or three years ago? Well, when I read it, i fell in love. I recently reread it (the version on your site) and still love it to death. I truely and honestly think it is the best ff8 story on the site. it's my favorite at least. I don't know why i didn't review earlier, but alas i didn't.

I think the storyline you came up with is amazing. it is canon, and totally believable. I'm also talking about the sequels. You come up with an ending (or beginning?) for squall and rinoa that is totally believable. I mean, when rinoa becomes a sorceress, that creates a more than huge problem for squall. really with him being seed, they can't have much of a good future. his mission is to kill her, but he couldn't imagine doing that.

The characters in your story were also so amazingly...in character. and the way that squall deals with what happened to him totally fit. You don't have him coming back from that with a mindset that is the same as before, because that would be just not true. I can see him really never emotionally recovering from that. The other character that I thought you did very well was quistis, especially at the end. I really liked how you showed her as "a seed all the way" and zell's reaction to her. she loves her friends, but would take down those against her, no matter who they are.

I also really like how you started and concluded the story. The start gave us a sense of how the recent conflict started, the hero's perspective of it and a slight feeling as to what the story will be about. The conclusion gives us a definite feeling of ending to the story, and shows what really happened in Griever's perspective during the ultimecia fight.

So overall, amazing. just amazing. I love this story and all the other connecting ones that go with this. Great job on it and sorry for the extremely belated but well deserved review :)

Thus far a very good story. I like the way you detail everything out.

I almost didn't read this when I saw it going towards an Ultimicia/greiver rinoa/squall ending. Never saw this one coming. But I honestly think that it makes sense, and it is bittersweet at its best. Very unique!

I thought you did a great job with this story i loved it enough to stay up late just so i could read more of it. The story was really orignal. and if they did make something like VI-2 i hope it would be off this story. Very good story

I read this a few months ago on RPG Classics, and I noticed you were on , so I decided to send you a review.

Grevier Chronicles was simply amazing work. A very dark fanfic but it managed to stay within the boundries of the FFVI universe. I thought the scenes with Alicia's experiments on Squall were captivating. The ending, which I thought would go the direction of Rinoa = Ultimecia, was completely original and almost shocking. I never expected it to go into that direction.

I'm glad I took the time to read this work... 10/10

Very great story, and after having read it I find that I keep expecting the other authors to reference GF's in the fashion you did, but alas, no. I also read the sequel on though Diablos's comment about Griever mystified me, as I had already read this ending and if there were a time for his/their words to come true I thought it would have be then... Still, major kudos!

Well, now, what can I possibly say except...

Very impressive, writing such a powerful and moving story that is at once amusing, angst-y and romantic. Although I was personally expecting that the traitor in Garden would have turned out to be that one student who Zell recommended instead of just some random character...

Also, very creative in including Raine in the picture. She certainly made a difference in the whole scheme of things, didn't she?

I personally believe that this story should be made into a movie or something...it certainly would help to flesh out any long-held feelings that remained after the end of FF8, as well as provide a credible explanation for the purpose of the Griever ring. Now, the only question becomes: "Will I find another story here on this site that will explain Griever as well as this one has done?"
