Reviews for: Song of Lingit's Children : the Bird's Way
Deilf Amhran
2005-04-14 . chapter 1
That was good. I had to re-read the first 5 stanzas to understand them. But I haven't read Memory, Sorrow and Thorn so that could be my problem.
I really enjoyed the description of Lingit's children.

"Red-winged soared/Southward she went/Drawn to the heat"
I love this. I can feel the warmth as I read it.

"Flew silver-wings/The smallest by far/Chasing the shadows/Of the sun as it set"
I like how this oneis "the smallest by far"

"High in the mountains/Secrets lay hidden/Fifth child, rust-winged/Soared to the heights/ Tall in the clouds/From the bones of the earth"
I just love this whole stanza. The hidden secrets, and soaring and the "bones of the earth" are very deep for me.

"Sixth born, brown-wings...He wished to keep silence/ Kept to the heartwood"
"Heartwood" LOVE it.

"Coffee-winged child listens/Crying her song/Singing to twilight/ She heralds the evening"
I love coffe too. M. And the singing in twilight is so poetic. It's almost sad, lonely, dark and quite.

I LOVE birds and their flying assoication thereof so that might be why I enjoyed this poem so much. Even if I didn't understand the plot behind it. ^_^
