Wow you really do get into Severus's damaged mind.

Wow, that was hard to take.

Wow, that is gruesome to come on him like that.

I'm liking this very much - your Snape mindscape is excellent - so hard to portray something like that, and yet, you are succeeding.
The reason Minerva cries so much is, I think, because she can. None of your other characters could, as Snape would reject them with scorn.
I like what you're doing with time as well, how you occasionally give us a hint of time passing but otherwise, we're stuck with Snape in the miasma.

Any chance that your muse has been busy on this in the three years since the last chapter was posted? You've gotten this to a very interesting point, engineered a major cliffhanger,... and then just left us hanging. Severus is my favorite character, and I was utterly horrified by the depth of Dumbledore's betrayal of Severus and Harry both when the postmortem memories were seen at the end of DH. Earlier stories like this one seem so innocent now that we know just what Dumbledore was doing to his pawns, but I still hope to see the stories with the more innocent outlook finished since I do like stories where Severus is shown to good effect. WOW. This is an absolutely outstanding fic. It's carefully-written, that's obvious. The characterisation is spot-on for all of them and I love how you write all the characters. The scenes inside Severus' head are disturbing but very cleverly-written and I like it immensely. It's well-paced, and that comes across strongly.

I really really love this and I hope you update soon.

O.K., this is not an evil cliffie, this is AN EXTRA VILE CLIFFHANGER - half a year! My dear author, you can't leave it like this - maybe if you have ended with some other chapter after the main physical recovery of our Potions Master, but not like this.

I sincerely hope that the brew was no poison - would anybody suicidal clean the cauldrons first? Would Snape do it if he knows Dumbledore is staying at school just for him? I don't think so, however after such an experience, who knows... (I have a friend, who is depressiv quite a lot of time and tells me sometimes she doesn't see why to do anything to improve her situation when she knows she will hang herself one day anyway. When I became once really frustrated with that I asked if she could imagine what would the person feel who would find her. And her only answer was she didn't care - it would be his or her fault. So in her case I would never expect to clean any cauldrons before, you know - and it gives me a hope, however an update would be much better (-:).

Update soon please I really enjoy this story and would appreciate reading more.
