I guess it's hard to think of something really new and unusual when writing fanfic; all tyhe more pleasant it is to find out that someone can do it. Your Beregond sounds such a mature man, maybe a bit too mature, as he himself realises in time. I love the way he sees the connection between a symbol and that which it stands for. And this sentence, 'What my namesake sought and failed to find, I have found without even searching', brings you a sense of some ultimate justice, and this is very heart-warming. Thank you!
