Wow, this is powerful. You really had me there (I guess it was designed that way... or I'm a right idiot) - I thought it was Harry right up until you mention Tom's name... I really feel sorry for Tom (not Voldemort, never Voldemort. Tom is a different matter), and you can really draw the parallels between Tom and Harry's lives. And the way Dumbledore messes them up. *worries about Harry becoming evil dark lord*

Who is the blue eyed boy, though? Is this a one-shot, or are we going to get more information on the orphaned Slytherin? Who are the friends?

Wow. That was really good. At first I thought it was Harry and Ron talking in the dorm, I mean, with the "'good as' son" thing and the dad wanting to ask about muggles. But Tom? Now that's a good plot twist!
