You know a chapter is good when it has you going "aw" and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :-)

The only cannon reference I caught was the one to "Sam" (and I believe it was either the sixth or seventh chapter...) where she talks about him hugging her briefly. Although, I don't think that counts because most Sky/Syd shippers would have picked up on that. LOL.

At any rate, I've followed this story from the beginning, but haven't commented until now. (I have no excuse for that other than pure laziness.) This fic definitely did something that I have not seen done in other Sky/Syd fics (and that I, certainly, have not attempted in my own work) -- you did not attempt to develop Sky, "soften him up" if you will. Instead, you worked within the confines of Syd's character, making her much more real, 3-D and, in a word, human. I really enjoyed that particular take and it was fun to see her develop over the story.

With that said, I loved the characterization -- very strong and you took quirks from the series, which makes me smile. Extraordinarily character driven, they are what stood out to me. The plot was important and, like others, I was waiting anxiously for the moment when they admitted their feelings for each other... and there was one big 'TA-DA' moment for that. But I feel that each chapter was about them revealing their feelings, because they revealed something new each time.

You also did awesome work with the secondary cast that appeared in this -- Bridge, Z and Jack for the cannon and, of course, great work with the OC, Ree. The early chapter that involved the card game between Bridge, Z and Jack was awesome. It showed them as characters and made them feel all the more human. And the picnic that Bridge and Z go on -- priceless! Along with Jack's advice to Syd? Just really strong work.

I'm blathering now and I don't need to go on for much longer about how much I enjoyed this piece. Great, strong work and I hope to read more from you. :)

*grins* Now this is a great present - an update on Christmas day! It was a wonderful surprise! Thank you for the dedication - I was practically giddy after reading it! *grins* I don't mind leaving long reviews - some of my friends even say that I leave TOO long of a review, but I think there's no such thing as leaving too long of a review, right?

The chapter wasn't to raw or clunky - it was perfect! Although, I am a little disappointed that the fic is finished already. It really was special *grins* Maybe you could write a quick little one-shot that details Sky and Syd's first date? Think of all the chaotic things that could happen! *giggleg line *grins* and I have to agree with Syd - Sky is pretty bizarre, isn't he?

I love how Syd had kept a journal entry from her earliest days at the Academy of her new crush on Sky - it was really cute! Kinda reminds me of how I used to write my name with movie stars in my pre-teen years *giggles*

Anyway, I loved this chapter to bits and pieces - it was just so fluffy and heartwarming and cute! Poor Syd - I can understand her insecurities where love is concerned. Love is a funny thing, isn't it? My favorite part of this chapter was where he kisses her in the jeep and then a second later comments that they're parked in a red zone *grins* that was so like Sky and for me that comment was so unexpected that it made me burst into giggles. Great job on that! And those cream puffs sound so yummy - I wanna eat some now!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'd love to see more of Ree. She's a fresh character and I love all her sarcastic comments from previous stories that she was featured in. I'm looking forward to reading more about her!

I seriously can't wait for your next updates (whether its for this story or the theme challenges) they always brighten my day and I love your writing! Keep plugging on! Now I have to get back to studying... *groans* come out with more updates and save me, please?!
