HBP introduced several plot holes, even to the rest of the books, especially where Dumbledor is involved. In the second book, Hagrid says that Dumbledor, who was headmaster, let him stay at the school, but it was Tom Riddle that actually opened the chamber. Remus says that the only reason he was able to go to Hogwarts was because Dumbledor became headmaster that year, and Dumbledor says that Riddle asked him for the DADA post that year. How could Dumbledor have been headmaster to Hagrid and Riddle if he didn't become headmaster until the Marauder's first year?

I think the Lestrange in HBP, Is infact the father of Bella's husband (can't spell his name) This site has some great timline (incase it dosn't show up it's HP-Lexicon google it) It may explain the timeline isues. I think it's probably just their parents or even grandparents. If Bellatrix married into the Lestrange family then they must be an old wizarding family, so it would make sense if their parents went to Hogwarts and were in school with Tom.

Hi, love your story so far, about the timeline, Voldermort was in school in the mid 40's, and the HP are set in the mid 90's (i think). So the Lestrange the pensive refers to is probably Rudolphus' father.
