1) I loved Kirk's mental musing. Suitably ironic.

2) I love the fact that you finally updated this story. But, still a little ** it took you nearly SIX YEARS! A fanfic author, with any type of loyal following, ought to feel obliged to update a LOT more frequently than that.

3) Sam-El is dead wrong. Kirk has had to go "Blood-and-Guts" to save the Federation, more than once. The two Lazaruses (Lazarii?), to name one. And, that sentient gas-cloud with the vampiric appetites, for another.

4) I hope to see chapter 6 posted no later than, say, two months from now. Because, that would go a long way to restoring some more of my faith in your sense of creative responsibility.

Star trek buffy crossovers always feel forced at worst, or not quite right at best. The usual mistake is makeing the enterprise crew too much like Buffy, or vice virsa. You've hit the middle ground

From this I can tell your a good writer and a scientist at heart (you love of technobabble gave it way) You also like to hammer home discriptive paragraphs.

you've got a good story here with some life and other brief flashes of the right charictorisation, I exspecaly like the Buffy/Spock connection, but all the people feel the same. The true glory of both shows is the combination of opposing views in the pursute of the same goals.

Keep writeing but have a second look at what I have said (and I hope you can ignore the spelling, its not my strong point)

Ejem AEJUT, the original ST was a series about parables and lessons about civilization, not a gory kill-them-all-before-they-can-kill you like in BTVS that was a cheap show feed by the power fantasies of many stupid amercian teenagers!
