wow... you certainly have a talent for writing. this was incredibly well-written, and i loved how you kept the themes dark, but also light in that Disney style. bravo! i actually don't have time to read the other stories at the moment, but i'll try to do so soon!

Wow, I've never known a plot so intricate and so well woven. Atif's death and the discovery that Sarafina was pregnant was very sweet, especially when he managed to call it a gift.

Man, I'm so worried about what's going to happen to Simba, with that whole prophecy line that you just said. Darkness overcame? Oh dear...Simba's my favorite character, I do hope you're not too ** him. Only one way to find out, eh?

And I love how you tied Pumbaa into that :)

Oh my god...both of their reunions with their fathers really touched me. I'm happy you gave Sarabi and Kagai a happier ending, or at least he hasn't died yet, and if he does it'll be with her forgiveness..

But these lines were really, really amazing:

'Then she is the best of all things in your life. Look after her, boy, and look after your children. Never forget that they have pains too.'

It's ironic because without meaning to, Mufasa is going to cause his child the greatest pain of all. Man. Man, this is amazing. Even though a lot of the characters are OCs i totally feel for them. Atif's fate is horribly sad, and yet it's a good lesson for Sarafina. This is so faved.

Oh, man, that was horribly devious of them...wow. So Scar innately blames Mufasa for their mother's death? Hmm..I wonder how Mufasa'll clear his name...I'm guessing he'll find Sarabi? Oh. Can't wait.

Wow, I really loved the interaction between Zira and Scar, it was just as clever and subtle as their characters are, but in a slightly more wholesome, playful way typical of youth. Awesome. I love how you have all of these original characters and yet it feels natural. Excellent.

Hi, it's me again. Sorry I haven't been around in a while, but I've been busy with many other things, both on and offline.
I just wanted to remark that this chapter actually made me cry, and I have not cried over anything I've seen or read in a long time. It actually felt kind of good! I'm looking forward to seeing ware this goes from here, and this time when I continue, I'll read the rest of the books in order, Lol. Since I mentioned it, when, if at all, is 'Dawn' going to be posted?

Until next time,
Kate

Hey, I'm back!

Still your jolly old self, eh? Just kidding; of course I love your story thus far! The reason I'm reviewing this chapter, instead of waiting until the end like I normally would do, is that I wanted to share this funny thaught with you. When I was reading the scene ware Zazu first comes to see Scarr's family, they seemed to me to be a bit like rednecks! Think about this! Three men living together, far away from everyone else, the father is out hunting with the "favored" son, and from Scarr's first impression, it does not seem that they are too fond of company. I could just picture some scruffy guy cleaning his shotgun, the same way Scarr was scratching the ground, LOL! Maybe it doesn't translate from my head to the computer very well, but I thaught it was funny. Hope I didn't offend you!

Dah!

"In addition, I notice that this book rather contradict TLK2, so I've generally decided to ignore them."

Umm, yes, saying as they were written long before Simba's Pride, such would be correct xP I hope you've caught up a bit since then! -Spanks-

I'm a jerk. Sorry.

"Jolly romp" Whe I seem to have some sort of obsession with the word jolly when other people say it... -cough- Just ignore me if you like, in fact I almost recommend that it stay that way... oO;;...

Ah! More British billboard quotes! They... must... DIE. I do hope you've fixed those? xP

Mixted, Morph? What a most delightful typo

That was excellent! Admittedly I had lukewarm feelings about the first chapter, but by the end of the second chapter I was hooked. The pacing is good and there were a lot of tense, suspenseful moments--Kagai's banishment, the imprisonment and blinding of Kehinde, and the final confrontation at the Tree of Life, to name a few. I feared for Ande's life when he leapt at the lions, and I'm glad he didn't die then, even though I know he's going to die some time before Pumbaa meets Timon.

This fic was darker than I thought it would be, but it wasn't so depressing that I wanted to stop reading. It was sad to watch Kagai change from a proud king to a mad outcast. Good thing his madness was only temporary. I'm so glad he was reunited with Sarabi before he died.

The image of little Pumbaa and his sisters climbing on old King Kagai is so flippin' adorable! I'm glad that his family had an important role in this tale. I felt sorry for Izefia...It's too bad that she let her hatred consume her so much that she put revenge over her family's safety.

Poor Atif payed a very high price for standing up to Scar, but that's the way it had to be, otherwise the events of TLK would've been very different.

Your characterization was great in both the canon characters and your original ones. Well done. I look forward to reading "Afternoon."

P.S. I one thing I forgot to mention in my review of chapter two of "Evening": I know I joked about all the LK characters having tragic pasts, but I don't want you to mistake it for ridicule. I understand that death and suffering are part of the Circle of Life. There are many different ways to react to tragedy, and some cope better than others.

I wrote a fairly extensive backstory for Ma and Max during my free time at work, and it actually turned out to be pretty tragic...What can I say, they don't seem to have any other family in TLK 1 1/2, so obviously /something/ must have happened to them. Anyway, I plan on throwing some flashbacks in my fic, which I'm getting excited about.

Happy writing!

Wow, there sure are a lot of kissin' cousins in Mufasa's family. It could be worse, though. Never would have thought that Sarabi, Sarafina and Zira were sisters. It sounds like their childhood (cubhood?) was at least as bad as Simba's. Poor things.

This story was great and very dark just like you said. I really liked Sarabi in this fic, I think she was my fav. I really liked it when Sarabi came to Kagai towards the end there. That was probably one of my favorite parts.
Oh, man and Scar! What a creep! It was perfect. "But how could I love a lioness who killed my own father" ug, it ghave me the shivers. I was really anxious to see why Scar hadn't been banished along with Zira but I didn't expect her to take the blame for killing his father.
When I get around to it I'll start your next story. You're a really good author and I hope you finish all of Rafiki's Tales.

I've just come across your Rafiki's Tales series, and I just want to say it's all fantastic! This one was a big surprise -- you went against all the accepted history for TLK (Mufasa not being the heir to the throne especially, for example) but it still all makes perfect sense in context to the movies. Congratulations, it's awesome. :D

I made it to the 3rd scene. Very good. I really don't have the time to read any more right now but when I find time I'll read the rest. I absolutely love it.
