I love this character story for Aoshi. Ilve always wanted a detailed description of his return at first to everyone after shishio's defeat. It's interesting, the little things that can be so important to the story that were somewhat glazed over. Thank you for posting this wonderful fic.

I never seem to find FANFICTION anymore. I don't look far enough- and I concentrate too much on finding fluff- so I never find things like this.

But this was wonderful. Simply wonderful.

This is a great piece... awesome work holding true to Aoshi while exploring in-depth...

Fine points such as respect for the strong(er) and the failure to understand the obvious, were excellent touches.

I truly enjoy your 'Sketches' series, and this is by far my favourite story in your collection. This was well-crafted; I admire very much the intense, natural dialogue you placed between Okina and Aoshi in perfect flow. One thing, though, your portrayal of Okina comes across as a rather bland, two-dimensional character (pun unintended) due to his lack of characterization, and that was quite off-putting.

Also, seeing that honour is valued highly in Japanese society, it would be a must for Aoshi to ask Okina for forgiveness, the absence of which would be a grevious breach of life ethics. This act, missing in your story, imbalanced things greatly. But these are merely light musings of mine - excellent work done, nevertheless!
