 moms5thchild 2007-04-03 . chapter 1Hello;
I never say Quantum Leap, I was working afternoon shift at a locomotive factory for 12 years and Quantum Leap came and went while during that time. Since then I have been reading the fanfiction here and finding Quantum Leap a very interesting fanfic.
I really like this story. It is tight and to the point. It lays bare the relationship between Al and Sam and the vunerability of both men.
I am old enough to remember the Viet Nam War in all its ingloriousness. Being Canadian I saw many men cross the border BOTH WAYS to deal with this war. Of all the soldiers and draft dodgers I have met I never met soemone who experienced being a POW or MIA. The picture you paint tells many things I mever imagined. It is a fine piece of work.

asearcher 2006-08-04 . chapter 1I loved this story. Sam going through all the stages and then realizing the true sacrifice that Al made, how Al had chosen going to hell and back for his friend. Thank you. |
SamAndAlsGirl 2006-05-26 . chapter 1Wow. What an incredible read.
Thank you for pointing out what QL and so many fans have seemed to ignore for so long...the amazing sacrifice Al made for Sam. I don't like to see Sam hurt for anything, but he now understands just what a friend (like he didn't already know) he has in Al.
We should all be lucky enough in life to have God bless us with a friend like Al. I can proudly say that I have been. Thank you for reminding me how much her friendship will always mean to me. |
Zealous Iconoclast 2006-05-22 . chapter 1I am at a loss for words. This is a masterful work: moving, consistent, dramatic. It is brilliantly thought-out and masterfully executed. Bravo! |
Super Chocolate Bear 2006-01-22 . chapter 1Excellent story. I liked the development of Sam's thoughts towards Al as he went from desperation to hatred, only to have it all pushed aside to help Bingo. It really did exemplify why Sam is the one leaping around. |
BenquashaFraser 2006-01-05 . chapter 1This story is very moving. I really liked it. Is it a one shot or are you going to continue it? I'd definately read it if you decide to add more. |
moviefreak9940 2005-10-30 . chapter 1As per your suggestion, I found and read this story, and I am speechless. This was a poignant and moving story, with so much accurate character emotions. You're very good at that. I really do hope you coninue to write more QL stories. |
 TeacherTam 2005-08-04 . chapter 1Wow.
I mean, *WOW*!
Talk about intense.
I thought from the start that the tortured man was Bingo, until you said he had died. Then I thought that maybe Sam had leapt into Bingo. Then the tortured guy was alive, so I figured--again--he was Bingo.
This was an incredible story. And it's no wonder that Al delayed his entrance. He knew that Sam would be okay, not tortured, and he also knew that there was nothing he could do to help his younger self. Of *course* the poor guy stayed away.
I do love this story.
Well done.
This is now on my "Favorite Stories" list. |

PippinDuck 2005-05-13 . chapter 1Laurie, I have always loved this story, and I am so glad to see it posted here for others to get to know how wonderful it is! This is one story that never lost its impact on me from the first time I ever read it. You are such a wonderful writer and you truly "get" Al! Well done! |
QL Quanta 2005-05-11 . chapter 1I love this story! It's so good! My only complaint is that I want more! I want to see how Sam spends that night with "Bingo," and if there are any noticeable changes in either Sam or Al the next morning when they meet up before Sam leaps out. PLEASE don't stop here! |
