Good story - really interesting to see angeline's madness from her own point of view. And I think it's great that you've managed to keep most of the characters...well...in character, apart from Artemis snr. He isn't the perfect husband - far from it. He used to be a very good one, but his thirst for gold basically drove his family away. Sorry, just a little correction from the purist :).

Also, about this line: "He wiped it off with a nearby handkerchief – one that used to be mine – and wiped all the gunk off of it." Paging the Redundancy Department of Redundancy...

And people writing (or saying) "off of" is one of my pet peeves.

However, very good story so far: keep updating.
