I love Wash's entire character here, and his casual-shy-lackadaisical confidence-wariness in approaching Zoe. The last line (Gorram, I'm gonna marry that woman) just makes it perfect. Great story!

This is really well done. I love Wash's gradual increase of fascination, and I love that it all started with curiosity about one little quirk.

"You know," he said mildly, offering the bowl of candy he held, "it occurs to me that we might be better off without so many people trying to kill you."

That was a great Wash line. And I enjoyed how he knows he's going to marry her from something so seemingly insignificant.

I'm grinning like an idiot, that was just too cute! Great job, very appreciative of your tooth sacrifice to write this story. :-)

I know I just left a review on another of your fics, but, well... an author can never have too maney reviews. So: that was, by far, the best Wash/Zoe courtship fic I have ever read. Maybe even the best Wash/Zoe-centric fic, period. I take my hat off to you.

After the movie, this makes me really happy. I've been stewing for the past 48 hours over what Mr. Whedon did to Wash. *sour expression* But, to tell the absolute truth...this made my day. You're an excellent, not to mention spot-on (literally) and eloquent writer. Muchos kudos.

Awesome. Really, really awesome. I loved all of it, but that last part was great. :)

Excellent fic, one that is very believable. I can completely see this being how Wash first started to realize things. Love your descriptions too. Here's a series of sentences I particularly enjoyed: "Unlike most people, who telegraphed moods with their whole faces--grins, lowering brows, scrunched noses--it was her eyes. Her mouth and chin and brows could all be as still as if she were carved out of wax, but the slightest flicker of an eyelid told a smart man that something was going on."

What else can I say but...sweet! :D Honestly, extremely well done.
