Reviews for: Rowling's Line
SlightlyFrumiousBandersnatch 9/1/06 . chapter 1
Why is this rated T? I don't usually read T-rated fics, but figured this couldn't be too awfully filthy. I was surprised to find nothing off at all that I could see. Did I miss something?

And, for the record, I would have been in Rowling's line, only my mom made me go to bed and went herself. Some sort of consolation title is in order, I feel. ;)

Very nice poem. A little eldery style, and very descriptive - and obviously totally true. Nice one!

Thanks to all for reviews. Agreed, Tensai, the cadence is rough in spots, but probably no worse than Longfellow's original - e.g.:

He said to his friend, "If the British march

By land or sea from the town to-night,

Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch

Of the North Church tower as a signal light,-

One if by land, and two if by sea;

And I on the opposite shore will be,

Ready to ride and spread the alarm

Through every Middlesex village and farm,

For the country folk to be up and to arm."

An excellent poem, even if some of neccasary words messed up the cadence of the piece. It has a nice, ballad, folk-tale ambience.

And...Danbury? As in Danbury, Connecticut, USA? Hmm...I would've known you had we not moved...

Great poem.

Haha. That really reminds me of real poems of the same like as this one, telling a story like this.

I absolutely, positively LOVE it. With a capital L. Heck, with a capital everything! Woo! You rock, writer-person!

I absolutely LOVED it! That, my friend, was VERY clever, indeed! I hope, by some insane, cravy stretch, that Mrs. Rowling gets to read your poem. I got many well-needed giggles out of this. And I know in many years I will be saying,

"I was there in Rowling's Line!"

Keep up the good work.
