This is a mighty interesting perculation you have here! This fic shows Kasumi Tendo as the person she has every right to be: a girl who (despite the smiles) is jaded, depressed, and feels generally abused by life. However interesting it may be, however, this Kasumi is OOC. The real Kasumi approaches life with almost inhuman optimism and manages to see the best in even the worst of people. Without a doubt, the Tendo household (and probably all of Furinkan) is better for it.

All in all, this was an excellent little one-shot. As that long-winded monolouge above shows, it made me think quite a bit. THAT is the mark of a good fanfic! ^_^

This was really good, and I know you said it was a on-shot, but I'd really love to see a follow up to this story. You managed to show us a Kasumi that would be willing to take the engagement, imo, and would be the loving, caring person that Ranma so badly wants to have around him. Considering almost everyone he's met and knows, including his mom, pop, fiancees, and "friends" use him in one way or another, it'd be nice to have he and the other lonely person in the house get together.

This is a very interestin show of the Kasumi character.
Definetly something fresh in Kasumi-centered fanfics.
You should think about writing a story at the base of this one shot.

Your description doesn't do this short story justice. Also you have such a wonderfull starting place for what could be a great R/K story. Think about adding more with this as your prolouge if nothing else.

This is so sad, I'm reminded of how much I take what my mom does for granted and I'm sure that from now on Ranma will try to help Kasumi in little ways to make her life easier.
