TripGirl05 2005-05-27 ch 1,	abuseI'm enjoying it so far- much MUCH more than the spontaneous, unemotional, illogical nonsense they tried to pull on us to end the series. This feels much more real, much more satisfying, and much more thurough with all of the story lines the writers mercilessly cut down at the end. And no less RIGHT after such a heartwrenching hour of Trip/T'Pol plot! Anyway, I like how you're starting right after Terra Prime (and Demons), and that what you're dealing with actually has not only relevance but logically follows the previous statements/actions of the crew (can you tell I hate the writers?). I obviously like the much improved and much more in-depth T/T story line. I can't help but like how you encorporated Travis's briefly noted plans of staying on Earth, actually gave them purpose instead of just letting them hang a passing thought that went nowhere. Other likes in a list (before this gets TOO long...) -Archer actually ACKNOWLEDGES that Trip and T'Pol are more than just friends. He's actually aware of things now! But beyond that, Archer is likable in this fic. -Hoshi/Malcolm friendship. I hope you explore it more, or at least have more scenes between the two of them where they are as comfortable and friendly with one another as you've made them in this first "episode." -The tellarite helmsman. Nice addition to show progress in forming bonds between worlds; there are still the unwilling, but also the eager. I should stop now. My review is far too long. Anyway, consider your story bookmarked, and I hope to see more soon.

The dual plots of Grik joining the crew and T'Pol and Trip dealing with the loss of their daughter was very much like something I would expect from the series writers. This could be the first show in the fifth season, if we had a fifth season. I dont know where the story is going and, if it were the first episode in season five, I would have watched the previews for the next episode eagerly. I hope there is some follow up on Travis promotion in the future. I like the emphasis on interaction of characters outside a specific Enterprise mission. That's what I enjoyed about the show, and it is done well here.
