| Fynnagin 2008-06-16 ch 1,  | abuselol - I'm only like one paragraph in and I just have to say: it's odd when Riku says he doesn't think he's much to look at, and in the very same sentence it goes on to describe him as being absolutely beautiful. I know Riku isn't narrating, but still the story is written from his point of view, and when a person isn't satisfied with their appearance (like Riku,) they don't look in a mirror and see the good things, so why are they described to the reader? I think it's mainly the structure of the sentence that makes it weird: "Riku didn't really think he was much to look at -" a reader is going to assume that anything else written after this line, in this same sentence even, are Riku's thoughts as well. So it sounds as if he thinks he homely, and then describes all of his beautiful features in the next breath. Wow long review for just a single sentence...I'm sorry! But do you understand what I mean? lol Just wanted to point that out...for some reason. I guess I'm just bored and things like that really annoy me. thanks! |
