segumisama 2006-08-30 . chapter 1Aweosme. its a beautiful, stunning pice of work. i expect great fanfics from you. sad too... |
Syco 2005-10-03 . chapter 1 A dark and bitter peice as you promised. Just a short, sudden dialoge as Sesshomaru changed in rapidfire sentences from the Lord he once was, ruler and power to the jaded and the long-lived impatient to see the end of his own days before the end of his home. It gave you a bit of a chill as you read and a kind of deep, inexplicible thought..."As if no one knew..."
I dunno. Thought I'd give you my honest thoughts. A great job once more. |
SilverontheRose 2005-09-09 . chapter 1Yet another beautifully told story. Well, followed you to LJ and friended you cause I want to keep up with what you are doing! Your stories rock and roll with the best of the balladeers. I've got the same name on LJ as here and my email is alconna@hotmail. com. Hehe, ff thwarted again! |
Gabriella100 2005-09-05 . chapter 1This very dark, very good portrayal of Sesshomaru. It's definatly in character. I liked the way you put that quick bit of Inu/Kag in. Nice work as usual. |
 quark 2005-06-26 . chapter 1 Holy smokes.
That was beautiful. I normally hate being effusive in my reviews, but this artistry is worth it.
"There will be no torch-wake for him, no star-warded pyre upon a mountaintop untrod by mortal feet, no hallowed tomb deep in the womb of the red earth." My favorite line. It evoked such deep despair, such a powerful ache that the age of the youkai has been eclipsed that I actually found myself trying to offer some sort of comfort.
Aino-kaachan, this piece is sheer poetry. I was enthralled from beginning to end. I have never, at any point in my life, been so deeply touched or saddened by a work of prose, but this... There are no words.
You are a true master of the craft. Thanks for giving this to us. |
AubreyWitch 2005-05-25 . chapter 1I knew I had read this one before! I didn't know you posted at the lj inu fanfic community too. (If your name is the same there then I am so oblivious.) That's cool, and like always this is a great work. |
Banana Rum 2005-05-24 . chapter 1Ah... Ever since Spring Snow (and Kings of Time) I've always valued your talent for Sesshoumaru-fic that don't completely tear down what makes him Sesshoumaru and rebuild Mr. Fangirl view of Sesshoumaru.
Other than the inital idea, which, of course, was something that most people would not envision, much less write about, what I think I liked most was the vocabulary. You use words that people know the meaning of--so you didn't go through the dictionary and pick a few that sounded cool to use --and can grasp easily. Pretty words that are commonplace enough for the average 'Net reader to comprehend.
I wish I could offer some sort of critisim, but I'm not good at finding room for improvement in short pieces, so...
Another job well done.

Trouble In Shangri-La 2005-05-24 . chapter 1It's amazing how much you said in so few words. It was poetic. Perfect. Beautiful.
I loved the last lines best, as always they wrapped it up perfectly. |
Raihu 2005-05-24 . chapter 1This is a beautiful ficlet, rich and atmospheric in a way that most short pieces never even try to be. Sesshoumaru's odd, hollow longing for the days when he was exalted sets an incredibly dark mood, but those little comments implying a futuristic timeframe also paint out soaring, science fiction scenery. It's an interesting combination, one that was definitely worth the effort. The entire piece seems to work toward the creation of a single, complicated image - something like a cityscape driving itself into ruin, giving way to customs and technologies, just as the feudal era was overcome by the modern day.
I love the way you've written Sesshoumaru's character. He seems much more like the demon he really is, now that the world has no place for him. Feral instinct suits him, and I find it interesting that it's this point at which he begins to understand Inuyasha. Now that Sesshoumaru himself is an outcast, it seems as though he's coming to realize just what his half-brother was forced to endure.
Or maybe I'm just reading into things overmuch. ^^;
In any case, this was a wonderful read. It's amazing fun to find a story that explores the downsides to near-immortality, and offers new insights into a character who isn't often written as well as he should be.
Many thanks for sharing this with all of us! |
Melinda-chan 2005-05-24 . chapter 1It would be nice if you could tell how Inu-Yasha and Kagome exactly died, but yeah I can share Sesshoumaru's feelings at being the last of his kind. But may I ask what exactly is he dying from? |
