Another great deleted scene. I was excited to find out this chapter was about the time between Remus' awakening and Harry waking to see Remus awake. Me very happy! Loved it!

Brilliant! I've always wanted to know why Sirius or anyone else wasn't around when Harry woke up and Sirius reaction was spectacular and amazing and definitely not out of line. I completely agree with Dumbledore. He should not have interfered! then Sirius would have been there when HArry woke up. Dumbledore should know by now, Harry always does everytihn in his own way, including when he tents to wake up!

this also adds to why Sirius is so amazingly angry at Dumbledore in the beginning of Power of Hogwarts. There is penty for Sirius to be mad at the headmaster for, but this explains just that little bit more anger towards the old man.

I can honestly and undoubtedly say that this is my favorite chapter in the ENTIRE Midnight Series. No, I'm perfectly serious. Sirius mind is like magic to me. And I hope we'll see it more in the future.

I feel bad for him. he really doesn't like to be helpless.

Burden of a Destiny Deleted Scene (Takes place during Chapter 2)


"Sirius had also been concerned when Dumbledore had suggested making the Noble House of Black headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix but in the end it turned out to be more of a help for Harry than a problem. The friendships Harry had formed had kept Harry from dwelling on the past more times that Sirius could remember."

And, like Sirius just thought before, it gave him more of a family


"“—to you and Remus and since he’s a werewolf…well…that’s pretty self explanatory.” Silence filled the room for a brief moment before the one on the right continued, this time with a grin on his face. “So, Padfoot, Marauder extraordinaire, we come to you now—”"

"Okay, the one on the left is George and the one on the right is Fred. Left: George. Right: Fred. I’ve got it. Sirius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. He had actually expected this to happen but not so soon. Harry had told him that for Ron’s safety, the identities of the Marauders had been kept a secret from the twins. “You two are really coming to the wrong Marauder if you want words of wisdom,” Sirius said with a shrug. “Moony’s the brains. I’m just the joker. However, I do think that this idea you two have for a joke shop is rather brilliant.”"

hahaha, that whole 'left, George; right, Fred' isn't going to work for much longer.
Sirius knows they're not there for wisdom. They want to make a joke shop!! Gah! Brilliant! He's not allowed to tell them that!!


"“So that’s why Snape hates Harry so much,” Fred said in realization then turned to his brother with an uneasy look on his face. “So do you think Ron’s going to become a teacher and take his revenge out on our children one day?”"

Sirius needs to stop blaming himself. He's doing the best he can.
He also needs to stop yelling at people who don't deserve it, like Gryffindor friends. He gets so worked up over everything. Not that there's not a reason, but he still should start acting like Remusa bit more


"Deep down, he knew that Dumbledore had made the right call since Sirius knew the most about werewolves but the thought of leaving Harry behind left Sirius with more guilt than he knew what to do with, especially when Dumbledore had finally returned with Harry in the state he had been in."

At least he knows it was the right thing to do, and isn't blaming Dumbledore for all of it.
He has to start realizing that he can't always be there for Harry

Aww! I loved that James flashback. I love hearing anything about James.

"“He’s different from most of the people in the school.” Lupin bit his lower lip as he tightened his grip on Harry’s hand, remembering the talk he had with Harry before the school year even began. “He doesn’t care about bloodlines, money or popularity,” Ron continued. “He could be surrounded by people but he chose us.”

“I really don’t think Harry’s different, Ron,” Hermione countered matter-of-factly. “I think he just stands up for what he believes in and tries to stop matters that remind him of his life with the Dursleys. That’s why Harry always stands up for Neville."

Both are so true. And both are the reasons why Ron & Hermione are his friends & not prats like Malfoy. And Harry is one of the few who isn't (completely) afraid to speak his mind.


"“Why do you think Professor Snape gave us that essay in the first place? Why do you think Professor Lupin’s ill so much? It’s pretty obvious if you ask me. Even Harry figured it out.”

It IS a good way to break a neck, but only if you're goofing around on it. Then again, it's Sirius :P
