I didn't think that it would be that good, since all those other times they tried to re-make the Odd Couple is failed horribly. However, I was surprised that this was as good as the orrigional. My only complaint is that Felix & Oscar never cursed.

This was really good! It's been YEARS since I've seen the Odd Couple, but the dialogue brought it all back. I'd forgotten about the honking! Glad you didn't, it definitely made it more realistic.

I know I'm four years late, but I just noticed this section and was curious to read your fic. As a gay person and an Odd Couple fan, I give it two thumbs up! I'd give more, except I only have two thumbs. Homophobia, schmomophobia! You perfectly captured the characters and their voices. Also, homophobia was a lot more socially acceptable in the 1970s, so the dialogue between the coworkers was very realistic in my opinion. The ending IS a little less humorous than the rest of it, but it still works well.
I can't believe that this show isn't out in a DVD box set yet. It's truly classic!

I think the final scene was typical with what Felix would have asked.

I enjoyed this. I'm not a huge Odd Couple fan, the most I've ever watched at one time was like three episodes during a TV land marathon after Tony Randall died. People saying that it seems a little homophobic are right if you go by today 2004 standards but the Odd Couple aired in the 70s. Think in a 70s mind set. While it *was* a turbulant and changing time most men in their mid to late 30s would be a little freaked out by being brought chocolate by their male roomate for no reason then and maybe a few now. But away from my history lesson - you got Oscar down as well as Felix -the honking-too funny. Had the show aired later, like the late 80s, would have been a great episode.

hehehe! That was funny. I just saw the play tonight at my college, and the whole time I was thinking...they are such a couple! I know they're not a couple in your fic, but this is the first fic I've found ever for The Odd Couple. I'm going to do a lot of searching, and hopefully find some slash. Oh my god, the only thing worse than the overused homophobia was the awful script style. It's ok to read a 300-10 word fic in script style but any more than that and it just hurts your eyes and makes you feel like a dribbling retard. Characters personalities always reflect the author and I think you're pretty homophobic yourself. But we all know what homophobia really means.

i gotta tell u, i only read this cos there was only 1 fic, but itz really gud! I've neva seen the odd couple- but hey, if itz on, i might just watch it now
