Trent was, I think, spot on but this didn't sound at all like Quinn. Yes, she was starting to grow up in IICY but this was too much too fast. No one changes that much overnight. In order for the change to be both credible and lasting, it has to be gradual and steady. Especially considering where she started out, to expect Quinn to have that kind of vocabulary and insight so quickly is unrealistic. It's a good story but I think of it more as a conversation between Trent and a generic person he ran into rather than a conversation between Trent and Quinn.

I'm glad to have run across your story. I agree that Quinn's speech is a little too polished for her, but you caught the topic of a quiet chat between the two perfectly. I'd love to see more of this developed further.

Nice story, I like the idea of Quinn growing up and making a drastic decision about her future without somebody forcing her to do it.

I somewhat agree with you about a lot of alternative music, they can ** about pop music being all image but they are just the same, theres a lot of alternative bands i'd say only got into the music industry because the lead singer is attractive. Doesnt stop me listening to alternative bands though...as you pointed ou, there are a lot of excellent musicians out there.

Followed Cincgreen's advice on his blog, and I have no regrets. Very good story.

Interesting work. My only criticism is that Quinn's command of vocabulary has increased substantially from what we've seen on the show. Her grammar's not that great, and I'd suspect she'd still be speaking like the fashion-obsessed teen even after a year of vocabulary building. As for Trent, you've captured him perfectly. I definitely want to read more from you, and I'll direct other Daria fans to this story at dariafans (dot) blogspot (dot) com.
