There were all different kinds of readout machines. I had the unreasonable (and perhaps feverish) sudden urge t’ fix whatever was makin’ them beep like crazy.

Thanks for you very long reply about the accent thing, helped clear up a few matters! Interesting that there is the equivalent of the 'BBC' accent with American newsreaders as well. Hm... anyway, sorry about a whole year of not updating Toad Goes Home, I just haven't been able to get into it for a while. but the Summer Holidays are starting next week so I might try and get some done then.
