I must admit to being more than occasionally puzzled by why a man like Pendergast would join the FBI with all it's rules and politics, but you have posed a very plausible answer. More than that, you made me feel as if I were running in Virgina myself that morning. Very well done.

Marvelous! A deeply palpable sense of place and space - very well executed description - just the right level of detail and using all the senses. A terrifically propulsive tempo and solid through-line. Well-shaped middle and a satisfying conclusion.

I hope you don't mind quotes in reviews - I like to be specific and have to tell you the line that really resonated with me was "He is in Quantico, Virginia because he doesn’t know where he wants to be..." Wonderful.
